Hey guys,
I’ve still been off my game this year. Sorry again. I do want to start the comic up again, but in the mean time here is a preview of the art for page 1 of my Waterlogged project.

Where the action is!

Special feature from volume 2, and something I hope will become a regular feature.

Hey guys,
As you can see, no new comic today. It’s been a pretty hectic week. I did my third studio move of the year, however I think it’s for the best because I am now the first official resident of the Cloudscape Comics HQ. A 24 hrs studio space for the local Vancouver Comics Collective.
Anyways excuses aside, I’m putting the finishing touches on volume 2. Here is the cover art coloured by Jonathon Dalton.
cheers,
Jeff
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving folks!
I’m taking a week off but there will be more fun and hijinx next week!
cheers,
Jeff
Hey wait! That’s not a comic!
Ok you got me, I have failed to get ahead this week, so due to flying to Calgary Friday, and Toronto today I won’t be posting more story.
However, here is a pin-up I made while on the show floor in Calgary.
Calgary was a fun show with an overwhelming crowd attending. I don’t think I can justify the expense next year, so apologies to all the fine and wonderful folk I met. Especially my hostel mates from Edmonton, Jeff, Jeremy, Cliff and company!
Angela Melick of Wasted Talent was in top form at the show and sold out of her book 1! (which I helped produce).
The Weregeek crew were a pleasure as always, and they even treated me to a BBQ dinner on Sunday night.
Sam Logan and J J McCullough(sp?) were also a pleasure to speak with.
Saturday I got to hangout with some Vancouverites and drink delicious blackberry beer. Shout outs to Ed Brisson and Mike and Miriam of Jobnik.
Miriam ran the con while in her final term of pregnancy. She survived the con, and I wish her all the best.
I also got the spend time with the Guru Kitty gals, and Beth Wagner.
Vancouver truly has a great comic scene.
I also reconnected with some former students at the show. It was great to see them doing well, working in Graphic Design and using the skills I taught them. One student Jose Rojas is starting his own geek media company, which was very impressive.
Hey Guys,
Sadly after one year together my partner Sydney and I are breaking up. We have been living together, and now we have to find separate places to live. For this reason I have not been able to update.
I’ve been discussing with Jonathon some solutions for how to keep the comic on a regular schedule and dealing with unexpected delays. Jonathon had the great idea of a secondary strip focusing on some of the side characters. So today, here is a rough sample of Jonathon’s own “Teach Emily in Japan”.
cheers,
Jeff
Happy New Years!
Ricky is carrying a traditional Okage mochi which is a traditional home decoration put out for new years. It’s made of mochi (rice paste) and oranges.
Expect regular updates to resume next week.
Merry Christmas from Teach English in Japan!
Cheers,
Jeff
