Here it all begins!

Further Delays

Hey Guys, Sadly after one year together my partner Sydney and I are breaking up. We have been living together, and now we have to find separate places to live. For this reason I have not been able to update. I’ve been discussing with Jonathon some solutions for how to keep the comic on a regular schedule and dealing with unexpected delays. Jonathon had the great idea of a secondary strip focusing on some of the side characters. So today, here is a rough sample of Jonathon’s own “Teach Emily in Japan”.   cheers,   Jeff

Holiday Guest Strip

Today’s guest strip was provided by Ed Appleby, my friend and former student. (Not from my time teaching English mind you, but as a graphic design instructor.) Ed’s work can be seen at edsrus.com and you should all go there and check it out! As for the regular story arc, I’ve decided to wait until Jan 9 2012 before restarting normal updates. I will still have new content every Monday but the next plotline will start in the new year. It’s a story focusing on James Kelly and it’s a story that Jonathon and I are really excited to be telling. Hope to see you then! cheers, Jeff

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Here is a fun pin-up in the flavour of the season, the “monsters” are inspired by the characters from Mizuki Shigeru’s Ge ge ge no Kitaro. Mizuki Shigeru is one of my favourite Japanese Mangakan’s He seems to me like the Japanese Bill Watterson. While I was in Yamanashi I got to see a series of illustrations he did depicting various Japanese monsters and spirits. Enjoy!   Jeff

Guest Strip page 2

Here is part two of Sydney’s guest strip. I’ll be back at it with a new page next week. This past weekend was taken up with the official launch of ’21 Journeys’ the latest anthology by Cloudscape Comics. It features work by myself and the fantastic Sydney More (Today’s guest strip artist). Please visit the site for details. If you want to see more of Sydney’s great work please check out her site here.
